Inter-Wind

Interdisciplinary analysis and mitigation approaches - Residents’ experience of acoustic and seismic WTG emissions

Picture: AI-generated (DALL·E 3)

In the Inter-Wind project, the topics of analysing nuisance, recording measurement data and deriving noise-reducing operating modes for wind turbines in low mountain regions are being addressed. Specifically, the WINSENT, Tegelberg and Lauterstein wind farms in the Swabian Jura will be analysed and the situation before and after the construction of the WINSENT research wind turbine will be investigated. The acoustic and seismic emissions and immissions will be investigated together with the meteorological conditions and related to the nuisance to local residents. The aims of the sub-project are to determine significant psychological, acoustic and seismic influencing variables that contribute to annoyance, stress effects and reduced acceptance, to record the effect of mitigation measures based on before and after surveys and to repeatedly record complaints and stress effects during measurements over several weeks in severely annoyed people.
