Location & Layout

Two wind turbines and four measuring masts form the centrepiece of the test site located on Stöttener Berg in the municipalities of Geislingen an der Steige and Donzdorf.

Wind Turbines

The type ZSW750.54 research wind turbines manufactured by ZSW each have a rated output of 750 kilowatts and a total height of around 100 meters.

Meteorology

The meteorological measuring masts and measuring instruments distributed around the site record wind speed, wind direction, temperature, air pressure and much more around the clock.

Nature and Species Conservation

Photo traps, microphones, laser range finders and radar systems are used to investigate the occurrence and behaviour of birds, bats and insects in the vicinity of the test site.
