Meteorology
From wind speed to cloud cover - the measurement technology installed on the WINSENT test site provides a complete picture of the climatic conditions at the site.

Meteorological Masts
Four meteorological measuring masts with a height of 100 meters record numerous parameters such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity and air pressure in front of and behind the wind turbines.
Doppler Lidars
Several lidar systems record the wind flow on and around the test site. Lidar (light detection and ranging or light imaging, detection and ranging) is a method related to radar for optical distance and speed measurement as well as for remote measurement of atmospheric parameters. Among other things, the system can be used to create virtual measuring masts in front of and above the Albtrauf. The lidar systems can be used to record all wind parameters at great heights above the test site.
Eddy Covarince Stations
Three eddy covariance systems record the energy exchange between the ground and the atmosphere, taking into account parameters such as thermal radiation, humidity, soil properties, air temperature and wind.
Ceilometer
The ceilometer detects the cloud height, the degree of cloud cover and overcast, the vertical visibility, the height of the aerosol layer and the boundary layer above the test site.
